Watch A Prisoner Escape The Tower Of London This August

Watch a prisoner escape the Tower of London this August

In a daily show, this man ropes down the walls of the Tower of London.

John Gerard prepares to rappel off the tower

Do you ever feel like escaping the modern age? This August you can witness a Tudor escaped As a little-known piece of Tower of London history is modeled.

The tower served for a long time as a prison with a rather bad reputation. But despite the appearance of strength, a surprising number of people have escaped. One of them was John Gerard, a Catholic priest imprisoned for his faith at the turn of the 17th century.

John Gerard is searching for prison guards before rappelling.

Although severely injured by torture, Gerard used a rope to lower himself above the walls and escape.

His exploits are recreated in a new, immersive experience in the Tower. There are few details, but you can expect to meet some of the Tower's most famous prisoners and receive secret messages in invisible ink before you watch a daring abseiling from the walls of the tower.

The entire experience lasts 30 minutes and is included in the standard ticket price. It's certainly a fun escape from reality for the whole family.

The immersive experience "Tower Escape" runs until 31st August 2019. Daily live escape plans from 3rd to 31st August.
